At Dental Care East Hanover, we have a dedicated children’s area that is complete with books, toys, and PlayStation video games for young patients to enjoy. Our friendly staff members aim to make every dental experience a positive one and will often include fun prizes in your child’s visit. We also have mounted HDTVs above each dental chair for kids to watch children’s television shows and cartoons during their appointment. It is important to us that your child develops a positive view of oral health that can last for a lifetime.
At what age should my child start dental visits?
According to the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a child should begin visiting the dentist when his or her first tooth erupts in the mouth. Typically, this means that a child’s first dental visit occurs no later than age one or two.

When should I consider braces for my child?

The appropriate timing for your child ultimately depends on the age that your child begins seeing an orthodontist. Generally speaking, the typical age range for children receiving braces is six years old through the teenage years.
